We are looking for a Hospital Administrator with psychiatric hospital experience whose customer service skills take it one step further. In this role you will be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Division by overseeing the operations and administration of Lincoln Regional Center (LRC), a 24-hour Joint Commission accredited state psychiatric hospital located in Lincoln, NE.

Examples of Work
Along with the Regional Hospital Administrator, the Hospital Administrator will:
Oversee the operations, administration, and day-to-day management of planning, direction, and coordination of programs, policies, strategic goals and objectives and initiatives for the Lincoln Regional Center
Supervise the Health Information Management, Compliance, Quality Improvement, Food Service, and Cosmetology departments as well as the front desk staff and Religious Coordinator
Work in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Assistant Directors of Nursing
Develop organizational excellence through leading and managing change, leading teams, and implementing a culture of patient and staff safety.
Direct activities of facility to plan procedures, establish responsibilities, and coordinate functions among departments.
Analyze facility operations to evaluate performance to determine areas of program and process improvement related to Joint Commission accreditation licensure and CMS compliance, and cost reduction.
Develop, plan, organize, and administer agency/facility policies and procedures to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
Assist in preparing the facility budget and direct and monitor expenditures of department funds.
Direct and conduct studies and research and prepare reports and strategic plans relating to facility operational trends and program objectives and accomplishments.
Determine and request staffing, material and equipment needs for facility operations.
Confer with facility managers and other agency program managers to discuss and solve facility problems and issues that impair effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
Review and compare work performance of subordinate staff with established standards to determine employee production levels, training needs and appropriate personnel actions such as disciplinary actions, status changes, separations and grievance dispositions.
Communicate with and advise subordinate supervisors and staff to exchange information on facility operations, policies, procedures, initiatives and objectives.
Develop facility procedures to respond to changes in statutes, administrative policy and accreditation standards.
Chair or direct various facility committees such as safety, labor relations and quality assurance.
Represent and promote the objectives and services of the facility and agency before associations, community groups, federal agencies and other public government agencies.
Participate in environmental and safety facility inspections and develops action plans to resolve deficiencies.
Attend member/patient council meetings as well as receive and investigate reports of member/patient complaints or allegations of abuse.
Will perform weekly hospital rounding duties along with the Chief Medical Officer and/or Director of Nursing
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in business/public administration or other appropriate discipline and five years of related administrative/managerial experience. Valid driver's license.
What you will bring:
Psychiatric hospital experience
Leadership experience in the mental health field and/or with substance use disorders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Health and Human Service System organization, programs, services, missions, goals, objectives, rules, administrative regulations, policies and procedures. Joint Commission accreditation regulations, CMS standards and fire code regulations preferred. Principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning; coordination and execution such as strategic planning, resource allocation, staffing modeling and leadership; policies and practices involved in Human Resources functions including recruitment, selection, training, labor relations and employee relations; budget formulation and administrative practices.
Ability to: communicate effectively to a variety of individuals; listen and understand information presented by others; apply deductive and inductive reasoning to a variety of situations, apply original solutions to topics or situations and handle sensitive situations.
Candidate should be skilled in managing financial resources; evaluating facility operations; identifying problems; gathering information; determining effective solutions, and managing personnel and material resources. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills essential for communicating vital information to hospital personnel, public officials, and members of the community.
