VCA Veterinary Specialists of Northern Coloradolocated on the outskirts of Loveland, Coloradois seeking a highly experienced Veterinary professional to join the leadership team at our AAHA-accredited, 24-hour emergency/specialty referral practice as Hospital Administrator.

The role demands a leader with the interpersonal and organizational skills to continue achieving our goals of delivering excellent patient care and customer service to both our clients and referring veterinarians.

The successful candidate will have experience in Human Resource and Personnel Management, Marketing, and Business Development. Your strategic vision and operational acumen will be put to good use!

The Hospital Administratorunder the guidance of the Regional Operations Directorperforms a wide range of administrative activities related to the practice. This includes: mentoring the staff and overseeing the business operations and maintenance of the facility; ensuring the business growth and profitability of the practice; and supporting the hospital's mission of delivering high quality patient care and exceptional client service.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of customer service and financial budget management experience.

  • 4-year college degree; MBA or CVPM preferred.

  • 2+ years managing a specialty hospital unit.

  • Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.

  • The ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results with hospital team members.

  • Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive attitude.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and deal with an environment of changing priorities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and develop the veterinary, technical and administrative staff towards the goal of quality patient care and excellent client service; assist in the formulation of objectives and policies to ensure efficient and profitable hospital operations.

  • Build and maintain relationships with referral hospitals and community partners.

  • Develop, execute and oversee an annual marketing plan for the hospital.

  • Oversee the hiring, reviewing, disciplining and terminating of professional staff, in accordance with and with the approval of the Regional Management team.

  • Review the P&L Report monthly and partner with the Hospital Manager and Medical Director to increase revenue and limit expenses; work with home office to prepare and submit the yearly budget (budget forecast, operating plan, cap-ex expenditures) and participate in the evaluation process with Regional Management team.

  • Model an "owner" mentality in hospital by demonstrating a willingness to assist all employees in making the practice a success; invest the necessary amount of time to accomplish the required responsibilities and ensure the smooth operation of the hospital.

  • Minimizing patient stress and discomfort; recommend referral to another VCA doctor or specialist when this is likely to significantly improve the prognosis.

  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.

  • Supervise the administration and case review of client medical complaints.

  • Positively represent the hospital and VCA in the professional community and to the general public.

Description SUMMARY: The primary role of this position is service program project management. Under direction of the Service Project Manager, this includes coordination of cross functional team members' activities to meet the prescribed project requirements, schedule, and customer expectations. This position also facilitates project communication between Service, the customers, and other company departments. The Project Administrator will hold responsibility for the program/project action plan. This position will also hold responsibility for configuration of hardware associated with system installation. As project schedule allows, the Project Administrator will provide technical support to internal and external customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintain and execute detailed action plans for each program or project. * Schedule and facilitate all necessary internal and external meetings and record discussions. * Communicate with customers, technical experts, consulting engineering firms, sales people, and regulatory agencies. * Generate project status reports as necessary. * Monitor bookings reports to initiate system installation projects. * Requisition materials for system configuration. * Perform system configuration and document all required information associated with configuration. * Maintain accurate configuration stockroom inventory. * Maintain development related documentation and the project history file. * Utilize and help improve systems. Utilize GCS feedback process to report identified quality issues and customer complaints. * Identify and inform the Service Management team of obstacles that hinder action plan execution. * Troubleshoot obstacles that hinder action plan progression through identification and pro-active plan development and execution at the team level. * Create and improve standard work to guide program/project management, and system configuration. * Travel as necessary to aid in project facilitation. As project schedule allows: * Utilize general application knowledge of industrial and municipal wastewater processes, as well as Hach products, to provide technical support and troubleshooting via phone and email to internal and external customers. * Document customer calls and escalate to appropriate functions as needed (technical support, field service dispatch, etc.) * Assist customer during system installation to ensure the system is set up according to Hach documentation, including mechanical, power, and signal requirements.
