We're currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hospice Team in Gardiner. As a Hospice Nurse you will provide direct patient care to hospice patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standard of practice. This is a 24 hour per week position, with a schedule of either Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday, 8am-4:30pm. No on-call required.

Develops a plan of care based on the priorities of balancing quality of life, relieving suffering, controlling symptoms, and optimizing functional capacity. Implements and valuates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
The ideal candidate will have:
Active Maine RN license or ability to obtain the same in a timely fashion, required
At least 1 year or more acute med/surg or equivalent nursing experience, preferred
Valid state driver's license & acceptable driving record, required
Previous ED, ICU, CCU, hospice experience preferred.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong technology/computer skills and previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
