As a Compassus Clinical Liaison, you are offering a gift of great support and service the gift of comfort, peace and dignity to patients facing serious and life-limiting illnesses. Because all of our Clinical Liaisons are Registered Nurses, they can have a first-hand, deeper conversation about the care and service Compassus provides. As the Clinical Liaison you will be responsible for building and managing relationships with the hospice referral sources. Along with the Hospice Care Sales Consultants, you will inform healthcare providers and community members about the benefits of hospice to ensure individuals receive care that aligns with their personal values and preferences, regardless of their condition.

Position Overview:

Using your clinical skills, you will begin and oversee the General In-Patient admissions process. Relationships with referral sources are built and maintained through direct contacts in the hospitals for the purpose of educating healthcare providers as well as the community about our hospice services

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Promote a positive working relationship among Inter-Disciplinary Team

  • Communicate identified needs and potential solutions to the program leadership

  • Represent Compassus and our services in a competent, professional manner consistent with the organization's collaborative culture

  • Assess and admit patients to hospice services with compassion and yet urgency


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

  • Ability to travel to patient homes or nursing facilities in the local community

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include some evenings and weekends

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Registered Nurse in the state of employment and two to three years' nursing experience required. Bachelor's degree and experience in healthcare marketing preferred. Hospital and/or long-term care clinical experience is highly preferred. A valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.

VIEW JOBS 4/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-16T00:00 <p>Longwood Management Corporation is looking for an experienced Director of Staff Development for one of the facilities it provides services to, to provide his or her leadership skills and be responsible for orientation, in-service education and a Certification Training Program (if applicable) for the nurse assistants as required by Title 22 regulations. This individual will provide Human Resources administrative support to the facility with regards to the processing of Human Resources paperwork, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory mandates.<br></p><p>The individual will be a part of an elite team filled with individuals whose main purpose is to provide a clean, safe, dignified, happy and healthy environment for residents.</p><p>We are looking for a talented individual who is committed to making a long term commitment. If you are looking for an industry that is continuing to flourish whose main purpose is bettering lives, we want to hear from you!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL </strong><strong>D</strong><strong>UTIES AND </strong><strong>R</strong><strong>ESPONSIBILITIES</strong>include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p><p><strong>P</strong><strong>ersonnel</strong></p><p>· Complies with the facility’s attendance policy requiring regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.</p><p>· Confirms the validity of certificates for all CNAs, LVNs, RNs, RNAs, and RTs hired.</p><p>· Assures certificates contain all required information.</p><p>· Notifies all nursing staff of expired documents and renewals.</p><p>· Participates in CNA selection process, as requested.</p><p>· Creates and oversees daily schedules to ensure sufficient staff to enable proper coverage of resident care. Ensures schedule coverage for called-in absences.</p><p>· Maintains facility’s personnel records per Title 22, Section 72533, (a), (b), and (c): ensuring files are up-to-date, orderly, and kept locked in a secure file cabinet.</p><p>· Processes documentation (performance reviews and disciplinary actions) and terminations of CNAs: responsibilities do not include actual employee relations, e.g., performance correction, termination, etc.</p><p>· Assisting all new employees with their new hire paperwork.</p><p><strong>Tr</strong><strong>aining</strong></p><p>· Prepares/obtains and files lesson plans for all facility employee-training programs.</p><p>· Maintains a current schedule of all students and outside instructors who may be in the facility doing clinical training. Reviews all such students’ records for history and physical and criminal screening.</p><p>· Schedules and coordinates an Orientation program for all new facility staff, including licensed staff, and ensures training occurs prior to direct patient care assignments.</p><p>· Ensures all nursing assistants complete DHS required orientation training during the first 40 hours of employment.</p><p>· Completes an orientation Skills Return Demonstration checklist on all new NAs and CNA showing they are competent to perform all direct patient care tasks. Retains appropriate documentation of completion in personnel files.</p><p>· Provides skill training to new staff in any deficient area noted before allowing the nursing assistant to perform the task with a resident.</p><p>· Plans and delivers all staff in-service addressing 10 mandatory topics annually using facility consultants where appropriate (See OCR Title 22, Chp. 3, 72517).</p><p>· Schedules and delivers at least 24 hours of CNA in-service training annually to all shifts.</p><p>· Creates and distributes a monthly calendar of when in-service training will be available.</p><p>· Makes regular checks for competency of CNA skills performance, positive regard for residents, and developmental needs of direct care staff, and conducts a mini in-service immediately, if necessary.</p><p>· Retains, for four years, attendance records for all CNAs present at in-service classes. Makes available records of all classes attended when requested by a CAN for certificate renewal.</p><p>· Provides resources for licensed staff in-service in clinical skills development.</p><p><strong>Other Duties</strong></p><p>· Prepares applications, for approval by DHS for DSD’s, Orientation, in-service, Continuing Education, and CNA Certification Training.</p><p>· Prepares/submits DHS renewal applications.</p><p>· Provides program change information to DHS, when appropriate, within 30 days of the change.</p><p>· Performs daily rounds in facility to assess and identify resident problems/needs. Conducts staff in- services, when needed, to abate known problems.</p><p>· Attends stand-up daily.</p><p>· Monitors weekly body check process by Treatment Nurse to ensure timely performance. Monitors daily body check process by CNAs.</p><p>· Participates in the plan of correction after the DON and QA surveys.</p><p>· Participates in the internal quality assurance surveys.</p><p>· Acts as Infection Control Supervisor, making sure all policies and procedures regarding infection control are carried out.</p><p>· Performs other duties or functions as assigned by the DON and/or Administrator and/or DON.</p><p><strong>SUPERVISORY </strong><strong>R</strong><strong>ESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p>Supervises DSD Assistant if applicable.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>E</strong><strong>DUCATION AND</strong><strong>/</strong><strong>O</strong><strong>R </strong><strong>E</strong><strong>XPERIENCE</strong></p><p>The ideal Candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in a SNF preferably a SNF with a SAU unit.</p><p>Employee must possess strong organization and multitasking skills, able to complete CNA scheduling, projections, and PPD and adjust staffing as needed.</p><p>Must be able to run background checks and schedule and complete the new hire orientation package for all new hires including I-9 and E-verify.</p><p>Must be able to manage employee files.</p><p>Must be able to ensure that employee licenses and certifications are current.</p><p>Must be able to do weekly infection control surveillance and reports, staff education, and employee physicals.</p><p>The ideal person will be able to complete all tasks in an extremely fast paced environment.</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Medical/Dental/Vision/401K Match (full time)</p> Longwood Management Corporation Los Angeles CA
