Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for a Hospice Aide to join our MedStar Home Health Care (MHHC) team!

The home health aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary team who works under the supervision of registered nurse and performs numerous services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. The home health aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed. The home health aide will be assigned to promote quality, continuity, and safety in patient care. Follows department specific policies and procedures and maintains competencies of assigned department.

Primary Duties:

• Assists with patient ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) (i.e., bathing, dressing, skin care, positioning, feeding, ambulation, toileting, and range of motion activities) according to the patient's needs and the nursing care plan.

• Supports and reinforces teaching patient/caregivers.

• Always ensures the safety of the patient. Immediately report any safety concerns.

• Assists with light meal preparation, feeding and clean-up. Reports on any significant changes to the clinical office. Documents the care provided and the patient's response to care.

• Respects patient/family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
• BLS (Basic Life Support).

This position has a hiring range of $17.50 - $27.23
