Horizontal Mill And Lathe Machinist - Swing Shift!

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with expertise in operating horizontal mills and lathes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including horizontal mills and lathes, to perform machining operations.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.

• Program CNC machines using G-code and/or CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX) as needed.

• Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to ensure parts meet quality standards.

• Conduct in-process inspection using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensional accuracy.

• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain production schedule and quality standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including routine machine maintenance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, specializing in horizontal milling and turning operations.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

• Strong understanding of CNC programming and G-code.

• Ability to set up and operate CNC machines independently.

• Knowledge of tooling selection, speeds, and feeds for various materials.

• Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection methods.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical degree or certification in CNC machining or related field.

• Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX).

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
