The Homemaker (caregiver/companion) is an individual who provides personal care, minimal household tasks and occasional meal preparation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse for individuals with special needs in their homes. This job requires a caring and compassionate person who has the maturity to assume the responsibilities that this position demands. A genuine concern for the sick or otherwise disabled, the ability to follow written as well as oral directions, and excellent oral and written communication skills are needed.
What you will do:
Maintain clinical record documentation according to agency policy and procedures and state/federal regulations
Communicate with clients, client family members, and agency staff are conducted in a respectful, professional manner
Notify Management of any changes in client's condition(s)
Lift, turn, position and transfer up to 30 pounds of weight
Cleanse medical equipment as needed to maintain a healthy environment
Assist with food and diet activities including gastrostomy feedings as applicable
Perform household services essential to health care at home as applicable
Accompany client to obtain necessary required medical services as applicable
18 years of age or older with High school degree/GED
Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints is a plus
Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience a plus
Minimum of one-year Home Health Care Experience or LTC Experience a plus
