We provide classroom and on-the-job training as well as a van, tools, and uniforms. Our Satellite TV Technicians/Installers are responsible for multiple customer visits daily which could include completing site surveys, installing satellite equipment, ensuring a quality broadband internet connection and educating our customers on our award-winning DISH Satellite TV services. Bring your computer, electrical, maintenance/repair, general labor, cable, military, customer service and/or customer relationship experience to DISH!

Satellite TV Installers/Technician Primary

  • Conducting site surveys - determine the best positioning of our equipment for strongest signal reception

  • Installing cutting edge technology - place mounts, satellite dishes and receivers while ensuring broadband connectivity

  • Educating customers - review order with the customer and teach them the basics to use and enjoy their new service and equipment

  • Providing Dish Smart Home Services - successful technicians offer our customers additional services and products while earning incentives and building new skill sets that will propel them into the future of in-home services delivery

  • Experience and Requirements

A successful Satellite TV Installer/Technician will have the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High energy, being resourceful, and strong multi-tasking skills

  • Basic computer skills; basic electronics and/or audio/video knowledge is helpful.

  • Strong customer service skills; friendly, approachable and motivated with a strong work ethic and high degree of integrity.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on a ladder, lift over 70 lbs at times, crawl into small spaces, work in all climates and remain within the individual weight requirement of 335 lbs.

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays and evenings.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; college or technical/vocational school a plus.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license in the State you are seeking employment in, with a driving record that meets DISH's minimum safety standard.

  • Cable industry experience is a plus.

Our Home-Based Satellite TV Installer/Technicians are required to have the following:

  • Minimum 5'x5'x10' covered and secured area at technician residence.

  • Computer with broadband internet.

  • Ability to plug in all DISH Network chargeable devices.

  • Dedicated off street parking at technician residence.

  • Ground floor access for equipment (preferred).

What You'll Get to Do: * The Subject Matter Expert (SME) shall provide Life Cycle Sustainment and Maintenance (LCSM) support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for all SOFTACS SDN Family of Systems (FoS), via telephone, email and/or on-site support in order to maintain 24/7 deployable status. * FSR will provide technical support on all equipment and material under the SOFTACS SDN program to all personnel supporting the SOFTACS SDN program. * Provides 24/7 on-site and telephonic support for CONUS and OCONUS Special Operations Forces Tactical Assured Connectivity Systems (SOFTACS), * Provides Life Cycle Sustainment and Maintenance (LCSM) support which includes, but is not limited to, Tier III repairs to systems that are beyond the technical expertise of the organization's level. * Provides installation, operation and maintenance training and troubleshooting to personnel. * On the Job Training, CERPs and equipment upgrade of systems. * Generating and maintaining work orders and shipping / return of OCONUS and CONUS equipment requiring maintenance utilizing the COLTS program. * Conducts bench testing of all components and apply appropriate equipment maintenance to identify system status before shipment and storage. * Assists in research and development efforts, as requested, and modification of new and existing systems. * Primary technician for satellite deployable nodes which service over 2000 different varieties of SOFTACS family of systems. * Provide weekly, and as needed, deliverables depicting support provided to our customers. More About the Role: * Responsible for participating in promoting, improving, maintaining and supporting all telecommunications services and/or systems. * Assists in the designs of networks or portions of networks that include selection of hardware and software packages. * Assists in voice network reconfiguration and billing reconciliation's. * Helps to ensure that all software including network control programs satisfy the communications needs covering both the hardware and software installed. * Develops or assists in the development of standards for carrier service and equipment. * Prepares or ensures that appropriate telecommunication documentation exists, including operational instructions. * Serves as a liaison to users, departments and vendors by providing the assistance on all aspects of telecommunications services and systems used throughout the organization. * Assists in all service / system upgrades while being a team player involving telecommunications and networking projects. * Performs or assists in the analysis in determining business process improvements utilizing the telecommunication systems. * Provides hands-on assistance involving troubleshooting and diagnostic support for all related systems, equipment failures or service issues. * May research available and emerging voice, data and video communication technologies to recommend future implementations. * Works closely with network administrators on communication and connectivity projects and maintenance. * Uses knowledge of current systems to promote beneficial capabilities and leverage use of the system's features. * Installs and tests communication equipment. You'll Bring These Qualifications: * This job is contingent on the candidate being able to pass the physical requirements of CRC to be able to deploy into hazardous duty locations. This is an immediate need. * Qualified candidates will have experience configuring Cisco routers and switches, experience operating and configuring VSAT/ Idirect, experience in integration, fielding, production, installation, test, and evaluation, maintenance, and Life Cycle Sustainment Management (LCSM) in Department of Defense (DoD) C4ISR systems, subsystems, and equipment. * Candidates must be able to pass CRC for potential deployments. * Active Secret Clearance with ability to acquire and maintain Top Secret w/SCI clearance. * Technical Training in DoD C4ISR systems to include Satellite Communications Equipment or Networking Equipment * Twelve (12) years of hands-on experience with Joint Warfighter C4ISR systems to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. * Must be a recognized expert who has demonstrated leadership in Joint Warfighter C4ISR systems development, logistics support or test & evaluation. * Experience configuring Cisco routers and switches, * Specialized experience in the design, development, testing, analysis, operation or maintenance of Joint Warfighter Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems Deployable Node. * Candidate should have knowledge in HAIPE encryption devices, BGAN and INMARSAT networks, and LAN/ WAN.
