A household manager oversees the general operation of the home. Household managers generally have the responsibilities of planning, organizing coordinating events, managing schedules, completing any other requested job tasks.


  • Assist in the development of individual person center plans.

  • Schedule training and activities in compliance with approved plans.

  • Train staff in program implementation and service delivery and monitor to assure quality, consistency and compliance.

  • Train staff in understanding and implementing medical orders, including specialized diets, and monitor for compliance.

  • Assure program data is collected, documented and accurate.

  • Maintain files assuring that individual records, including assessments, medical reports, program plans, progress notes and data are comprehensive, accurate and current and compliant with regulatory agencies.

  • Schedule medical appointments and accompany residents to medical appointments, assuring that all medical needs are met in a timely manner.

  • Direct and monitor medication administration and management.

  • Assist residents in shopping and assure that homes are adequately stocked with food and other supplies.

  • Prepare staff work schedules assuring all shifts are covered and providing coverage when necessary.

  • Provide transportation for persons served.

  • Provide oversight and training to protect the health and safety of residents.

  • Maintain communication with persons served, families, service coordinators, case managers and ancillary personnel regarding quality and satisfaction with the service provided.

  • Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, mentor and retain program staff.

  • Advocate for the rights of persons served and protect them from verbal, mental, physical and sexual abuse.

  • Provide for safety of persons served and program staff and assure program site and vehicles are operated and maintained in a safe, clean and healthy manner.

  • Promote and market Witco to the general public.

  • Attend and actively participate in meetings.

  • Attend training sessions, workshops and conferences.

  • Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures promulgated by the Board of Directors and the President and Chief Executive Officer.

  • Participate and promote staff participation in all fund raising events sponsored by Witco.


High School Diploma.
2080 hours of supervised experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Experience working in a certified residential program.

Ability to produce grammatically correct, coherent, well written reports and other documents.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with a high degree of accuracy.

Read, understand and implement program plans.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent time management skills.

Excellent communications and public relation skills.

Sound judgment and decision making.

Ability to train, lead and inspire staff.
