Symbria is looking for a Regional Director of Home Health to join our EMPLOYEE-OWNED TEAM!
POSITION SUMMARYThe Home Health Regional Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and fiscal performance within the assigned Home Health Care (HHC) Agencies to assure quality care and efficient provision of services.
Responsibilities
Department Management• Engaging the team by living and fully communicating Symbria's vision and values.• Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.• Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the Home Health agencies under your direction.• Provide ongoing monitoring to assure documentation compliance per Home Health regulatory and JCAHO requirements as appropriate.• Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, and efficiency.• Create workflow to support HHC services under PDGM guidelines and promote referrals to Outpatient services as appropriate.• Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures• Oversight of visit scheduling, supervisory visit compliance, appropriate payroll and mileage input.• Review performance data that includes financial, sales, and activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.• Communicate regularly with other managers, department heads and other designated contacts within the company and Agencies we work with.• Communicate corporate and company policies and procedures to staff members.
Human Resources Management• Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals. Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire,and employ an appropriate number of employees.• Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the department in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.• Assure compliance within Home Health guidelines, including JCAHO accreditation.• Coach, mentor, train and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.• Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.• Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members. Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization's and that emphasizes the identified miss ion, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization.• Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning. Identify training and career development needs and work with employees to achieve growth in these areas.• Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and corrective action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary.• Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.• Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, telecommuting, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.• Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, and regular interpersonal communication.
WORK SCHEDULEThis position requires travel, including some out-of-state travel, to assist with the management of operations, education and training, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in business or healthcare industry experience; minimum fiveyears.• L icensed therapist/Assistant (physical, occupational, or speech language) in respective state(s)of service.• Extensive knowledge of Medicare and state regulations related to therapy and in the HomeHealth industry.• Long-term care/Home Health experience required; minimum four.• Managerial experience; minimum one to three years.• Strong customer service skills and ability to manage multiple sites.• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.• Demonstrate professional appearance, excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and basic math skills.• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.• Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
