Home Care through Spectrum Health NRS offers a highly skilled team of specialists working together to help individuals reach their greatest possible independence and the best possibly quality of life. Our professional treatment team takes a multidisciplinary approach to care, developing individual plans for each patient to ensure optimal rehabilitation.

Our home care program is designed to help children and adults with complex medical and rehabilitation needs, such as traumatic brain injuries, stroke, neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries and orthopedic injuries. Care is provided by our highly skilled specialists, up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are here to help patients and their families get back to enjoying life, surrounded by the familiar comforts of their own home.

Under the direct supervision of the Nursing RN case manager, and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Home Health Aide (HHA) serves the role in assisting our clients with personal care activities ranging from ADLs bathing, dressing, feeding to client transport and meal prep. Home Health Aides work in assisting with task directly essential to the client's health in accordance with their care plan; observe, record, and report services provided and clients response to care as well as client status to the case manager. Home Health Aides strive in working diligently to help our clients reach their maximum potential

Basic Qualifications:

Education - High School Diploma or equivalent

Drivers License MI (MI DR LIC)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Spectrum Health Continuing Care required within 90 days of Hire

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification: Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) course or its equivalency

Experience: 3-6 months of experience in residential, rehabilitation or other healthcare setting or 6 months or more of education in healthcare filed (nursing, healthcare sciences, etc.)

Qualifications: * Education: Must provide satisfactory evidence of successful completion of classroom and supervised practical training totaling at least 75 hours, with at least 16 hours devoted to supervised practical training. The individual being trained must complete at least 16 hours of classroom training before beginning the supervised practical training. * Licensure: Must maintain certification as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (C.N.A. or STNA) in applicable state. * Experience: Experience as a Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home or home health agency preferred. * Skills: Must be able to read and write and carry out directions in English. Demonstrates a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and desires to provide care in the home. Ability to pass competency evaluation prior to performing care.
