The HM&E Test Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Primary responsibility over a given HM&E system for witnessing all the testing on a specific LCS-Class hull and supporting trials.
Provide direct technical support to the Navy's waterfront project office test team through the monitoring of installations, witnessing tests, and validating HM&E systems and associated support equipment.
Specific duties include auxiliary equipment/systems, DC systems, vents, drains, overflows, hydro testing, hull fitting installation and testing, A/C and reefer (AC&R), heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), safety devices, CPS, deck hatches and fittings, pull testing, MCS, IC equipment and systems, and electrical distribution systems.
Compile a variety of technical documents such as test procedures and instructions, verifying their validity and assuring that the technical publications are consistent with the skill levels of the intended user.
Qualifications & Clearance Requirements
Education, Work Experience, Skills, and Clearance
Associate's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years' relevant experience OR a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years' direct relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Able to work in a ship/shipyard environment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Active Secret security clearance verifiable in JPAS or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
