Sutter Care at Home is the home health care and hospice affiliate of Sutter Health, one of the nation's largest not-for-profit health care systems.
The incumbent of this position ensures the quality of patient care and referral relations in the hospital(s). The HME Coordinator is responsible for servicing referrals in assigned Sutter Hospital(s), answering incoming calls, and directing referrals to Timberlake & other outside agencies. Maintaining and counting inventory in assigned Sutter Hospital(s) consignment closets.
Dispensing DME, oxygen portables, and fitting equipment in the rooms for patient discharges. The HME Coordinator is also responsible for assisting clients, hospital staff, and accurately processing orders, and all other paperwork assigned, within established time frames.
High school diploma. Knowledge of DME is highly desired.
Prior Customer service or retail experience preferred. Prior experience with Durable Medical Equipment Company highly required.
Background in the medical field highly desired. Knowledge of durable medical equipment and insurance guidelines, including Medicare, MediCal and HMO's highly desired.
Able to work general office equipment, to include FAX machine, copy machine. Prior experience with computers and data entry also preferred. Incumbent must be patient, experienced in working with elderly and terminally ill as well as have excellent written and oral communication skills.
