Organization: PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation PAD Position Overview:

Integrates knowledge, theory and practice to properly execute procedures in assigned areas of the laboratory. With advanced training and education, maintains competence in all histology practices to perform pre-analytic and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease. May be responsible for specimen/material receipt, preparation, and archival/retrieval, as well as validation testing and problem troubleshooting, as defined by department policies and procedures.

As a member of the laboratory team, works cooperatively with physicians, clients, and staff to facilitate superior patient care and to represent the laboratory positively by acting with courtesy, dignity, respect, and professionalism. Job Description : EDUCATION High School Diploma or General Education (GED) TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 1 year recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrated advanced knowledge and technical competence in specimen collection and preparation, laboratory operations, and quality assurance in histology. Quantity of Work: Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assigned tasks for completion within expected time-frames.

Quality of Work: Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks. Demonstrates sound judgment and problem solving relevant to assigned duties.

Culturally Competent Communication: Ability to compassionately and effectively interact individuals and groups of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs and behaviors. Workflow Management:

Ability to appropriately respond to fluctuations in volume, unexpected situations or problems such as equipment or information system failures, shift-to-shift hand-offs, priority test orders, and specimen integrity issues. Adherence to Practices & Procedures: Ability to follow standard practices, processes, and procedures in sequence.

Knowledge of applicable local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures aimed at ensuring the privacy and safety of patients. Job Shift: Varied Schedule:

Pay Range is $49.23 to $61.53 / hour The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.

Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
