HIM - Health Information Management (Him) Clerk FT Days

Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed, non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. The Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk maintains and updates patient records, including medical histories, treatments and examinations; filing and storing records; and releasing patient medical recordsJOB DUTIES:

• Assist in the coding process, provide support and act as general liaison for the coding team
• Retrieve and electronically track charts
• Download patient records from EMR systems
• Submit electronic files to record management system
• Create and maintain incoming files by identifying correct patient information
• Create, send and track communication to providers
• Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy

The Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk assumes other responsibilities as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
• Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
• Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
• Proficient computer skills
• Computer knowledge in MSOffice and Meditech

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· H.S. Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent work experience in field, required
· Medical Coding education and certification, preferred
