POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Integrity Analyst works in the Epic application using various reports and work queues to analyze patient records and perform merges and chart corrections to maintain the integrity of the patient records. The position also processes requests for accss to myLCMC Health and works on various eMPI related projects.# The analyst will also assist Data Integrity Coordinator with various eMPI projects and will assist and train Data Integrity staff on new processes, as necessary.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Performs medical record merges and data integrity corrections for individual patients identified on reports and work queues by solving issues arising from inaccurate patient data or duplicate medical record numbers. Works reports and work queues that identify possible duplicate medical record# and the data integrity resolutions of the healthcare organization by analyzing and making appropriate changes when necessary. Analyzes and performs medical record merges, unmerges, overlays, overlaps and chart corrections in the healthcare systems (epic).# Meets established productivity goals per departmental policies.

Maintains established quality and accuracy goals per departmental policies. Performs merges, unmerges, overlays, overlaps, and chart corrections as necessary in hospital legacy systems to ensure a patient has one individual medical record number. Reviews, analyzes and corrects duplicate or patient identity issues as it relates to the HIE (Care Everywhere). Retrieves, analyzes and makes appropriate eMPI and chart corrections in both electronic and paper records as necessary.

Processes requests for access to myLCMC Health. Monitors inbaskets in Epic for myLCMC Health requests. Contacts patient to verify information, if necessary.# Ensures that the requester is either the patient or a proxy already on the patient record.

Sends activation code or denial notification. Monitors and completes all requests where additional information/verification is required. Communicates effectively with requesters, adhering to the LCMC Culture of Excellence Core Values.

Collaborate with all data integrity analysts, clinical departments, providers, and external vendors to resolve duplicate medical records, overlaps, overlays, and data integrity. Communicates effectively with all personnel involved in all aspects of data integrity. Communicates issues when the need arises to reduce errors and improve registration process to reduce issues with data integrity Resolves issues and problems as they arise and escalates issues as needed.

Responsible for communicating issues to Management. Responsible for flagging patients in system for known duplicates and other flags as necessary. Ensures the integrity of all ancillary systems by notifying departments of merges performed in Epic. #Sends a daily report of merges performed to ancillary departments.

Familiar with policies and procedures with regards to data integrity, chart corrections, and medical record merges. Follows appropriate policy and procedures with regards to medical record merges and data integrity and philosophy as consistent with facility#s policy and values. Assist Data Integrity Coordinator and Data Integrity Staff, as well as perform other duties as assigned Assist Data Integrity Coordinator with various eMPI projects.

Assist Data Integrity Staff with daily tasks, if necessary. Learn new departmental processes/systems and train/assist staff when necessary. Other duties and projects as assigned, including but not limited to, assisting with other projects as needed, and attending required staff meetings and educational sessions.


Education:


Minimum Required:#High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Preferred:#Associates degree, or Bachelor#s Degree Experience: Minimum Required:#Two years working in a detailed orientated job setting.

Preferred:#Previous data analysis experience. License/Certification: Minimum Required:

None Preferred: RHIA, RHIT Special Skills/Training:# Minimum Required:#Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail.# Strong interpersonal skills required.# Ability to work independently. Proficiency with Excel.

Preferred:#Medical terminology. The ability to learn various computer programs.# Demonstrate the ability to identify and resolve issues independently and communicate effectively with other team members and management.
