JOB TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

SUPERVISOR: Director of Human Resources

POSITION PURPOSE: This position is responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Human Resources Office and the Market Staffing Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Employee Relations/Office Support:

  • Reception for all office traffic and phone call coverage

  • Updates hotel postings and bulletin boards

  • Maintain department files and filing systems

  • Updates and maintains hotels vacation tracking log

  • Sends all monthly Birthday and Anniversary cards/calendars

  • Coordinate Associate recognition receptions, nominations, invitations, commendation letters, and awards

  • Respond to all employment verification and unemployment requests

  • Assist with special projects, trainings, and hotel events as needed

  • Assist associates with general HR questions

  • Perform any miscellaneous duties as assigned

Staffing Team Support:

  • Assists with the employment pre-screening questionnaires

  • Facilitate completion of reference and background checks for qualified applicants

  • Coordinates all new hire paperwork and placing all WOTC calls

  • Maintain Application log

  • Assist in maintaining the ATS

  • Coordinates all job weekly postings

  • Coordinate property orientations

  • Prepare all new hire packets, photos, ID cards

  • Assist on orientation day

  • Enters all new hires in the HRIS system

  • Notifies the union of new members

  • Coordination of the Termination process

  • Enter all Terminations in People Soft

  • Coordinates the term file.

  • Maintains the Market HR Team Talent Dashboard

  • Assist in recruiting throughout the community through involvement & job fairs

  • Perform any miscellaneous duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimally an Associate Degree Four Year Degree preferred

  • Computer and typing experience

  • Prior experience in Human Resources, Hospitality or Customer Service fields

  • Ability to file accurately

  • Accuracy with numbers, budgeting experience administration

  • Ability to work independently with high level of confidence

  • High degree of organization and motivation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Outgoing, pleasant personality and good grooming

  • Ability to analyze

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Basic knowledge of employment related issues

  • Experience with computers

  • Perform other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Greet guests as they arrive, obtain information pertaining to name and reservation time, or assign available tables to walk-in guests. Ensure even distribution of tables for each server. * Politely escort guests to table, hand them menus, wine list, and inform them who their server will be and describe any specials, including buffet options. * Depart from tables with a courteous farewell. Inform server of additional guests that may be joining a table as well as provide additional table seatings when needed. * Receive, record, and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant. * Assist wait staff and bus staff as needed. * Assist with all to-go orders. * Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area. * Answer phones and maintain voicemail. * Responsible for coat check. * Thank all guests graciously and invite them to return. * Assist with Business Event Orders for private functions. * Perform other duties as assigned, such as validating parking for guests or maintaining restroom facilities. POSITION REQUIREMENTS * Ability to read the English language, to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, and reservations. * Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items. * Ability to move through a crowded room to seat guests. * Relay important reservation requests to servers. * Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. * Open table computer handling. * Cash handling experience preferred. * Ability to multi-task and self motivate during slow periods. * Flexible schedule preferred. * No prior experience required. * Prior hospitality experience preferred. * Good speaking voice and ability to maintain composure during stressful situations. * Knowledge of proper etiquette.
