Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Banquet Set-Up

DEPARTMENT: Banquets

SUPERVISOR: Director of Banquets, Banquet Manager

POSITION PURPOSE To ensure appropriate set-up of Banquet rooms in accordance with guest specifications and Marcus' standards of quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain condition and cleanliness of banquet facilities by cleaning, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets.

  • Set up banquet spaces as required per Banquet Event Order (BEO).

  • Provide service to customers as required per contract.

  • Perform breakdown of function rooms.

  • Assist in serving as needed.

  • Read and understand a Banquet Event Order (BEO).

  • Organize, control and restock linen room and supplies.

  • Organize and control inventory and storage.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior hospitality/customer service experience preferred.

  • Must have a basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.

  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and proper set-up.

  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English in order to provide service as requested by captains, managers and guests.

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-05T00:00 POSITION PURPOSE: Serve beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous,and timely manner resulting in superior guest satisfaction. Prepare beveragesfor servers to supply guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Maintain proper and adequateset-up of the bar on a daily basis including paper products, straws, stirrers,condiments, and produce, based on Banquet Event Orders (BEO's). Check par levelof beer, wine and spirits. * Responsible for maintainingstock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices andother perishables daily to ensure product quality. * Greet guests in a courteousand friendly manner and promote and documents orders for drinks. Mix, garnish, and present drinks usingstandard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. * Update par sheets throughoutshift to ensure accountability and accuracy. * Maintain cleanliness of barand guest areas throughout shift. * Receive cash from guests,make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and insure vouchersare properly executed in order to balance all moneys. * Lock up and store allbeverage, food, and other equipment items. * Perform general cleaningtasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by Manager to adhere tohealth standards. * Perform other duties andresponsibilities as requested e.g., special guest requests. * Must adhere to all State,Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholicbeverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are beingfollowed. * Other duties as assignedsuch as assisting security with disorderly guests. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Must have basic knowledge ofbeverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages. * Basic mathematical skillsnecessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, counttotal bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portionsizes. * Basic English languagewriting skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets, andvouchers. * Sufficient manual dexterityin hands in order to use a knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware andbottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock. * Ability to read, speak, andunderstand the English language in order to communicate with guests and takeorders. * Ability to remember, recite,and promote a variety of menu items. * Ability to stand and work inconfined spaces for long periods of time. * 1-2 years of bartendingexperience required. * Ability to obtain anygovernment required license or certificate.
