We are currently seeking a Highway Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Group in our Norwell, MA or our Boston, MA office.

Responsibilities

  • The primary duties will be to lead highway design projects.

  • Overseeing junior-level staff in the preparation of calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and public presentations.

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to work and/or lead in a team environment.

  • Ensure QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering.

  • Leads entrylevel staff effectively and ensures high technical quality of the team's deliverable.

  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of a project.

  • Develop work plans to coincide milestones of a project and when revisions of work plan need to be addressed.

  • Selects procedures and checks complete reports and calculations.

  • May assist or involved in the technical scope proposal development.

  • Allocates billable time to projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.

  • 5 + years of relevant highway design experience.

  • Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Knowledge of MassDOT transportation standards, procedures, and specifications preferred.

  • P.E. license required.

  • Good verbal and written communications skills with a strong ability to work in a team environment.

  • Exhibits a willingness to provide assistance to senior level engineers and project managers.

  • Participation in a professional organization is preferred.

In this position you will perform road and highway design tasks and civil engineering calculations and analysis. Responsibilities: * Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status. * Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses. * Provides support for other engineering activities as required. * May be assigned to a project or organizational team, for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project. * Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications: * 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field). * Prefer some co-op or 6 months to 3 years of related civil design experience, preferably in road/highway design. * Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred. * Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering, such as Microstation.
