Highway Maintenance Workers are certified by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to operate a variety of complex or specialized highway maintenance and construction equipment in order to restore and maintain the integrity of roadway surfaces; maintain roadside slopes, shoulders, culverts and ditches to restore drainage and prevent erosion; and repair or replace related roadway appurtenances such as guardrails, markers, guide posts and fences.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This recruitment will be used to fill vacancies as they occur within District I, Las Vegas, NIGHT CREW for the next six months.
Incumbents are responsible for performing routine maintenance duties, including keeping pavement surface, shoulders, clear zones, and associated roadways in good repair; winter maintenance, including snow plow operation and anti-icing activities; summer betterment projects, and assistance in emergency operations.
The hours for these positions are subject to change depending on the needs of the appointing authority and may be five 8-hour shifts and four 10-hour shifts.
These positions may require working in inclement weather.
This is the continuing trainee level, and incumbents may progress to the next level after one year of being certified as a fully trained operator of complex or specialized highway maintenance and construction equipment as designed by NDOT, satisfactory performance, and with approval of the appointing authority.

This position supports Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS), Assisted Outpatient Treatment located at 1785 E. Sahara Ave, Las Vegas, NV. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. We are accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The position may be assigned to any work location, based upon client's needs. Clinical Social Workers perform client evaluations and assessments through interviews with families and friends and review of medical records including social, developmental, and medical history. Incumbents will perform crisis interventions; follow established protocols and policy in order to protect clients, staff, family, and others potentially at risk due to client behavior; and recommend and complete documentation for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization. Duties include overseeing the delivery of professional services, responsibility for staff coverage, space and equipment needs, budget development and monitoring, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, program guidelines, and agency policy. In addition, incumbents will participate in treatment planning and implementation by attending treatment team meetings, case conferences, or client sessions; report direct observations regarding client progress and recommend changes in the treatment plan as appropriate; evaluate necessary daily living skills and educational and vocational service needs; develop and coordinate treatment plans and implement interventions with clients in order to achieve treatment goals. Incumbents will also have knowledge on utilizing the recovery model and on ensuring compliance with CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies.This is a full-time position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Incumbents will be working an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours per week.
