Highland Springs/Saukie Course Ranger

Description

This is seasonal work involving the concession operation of Highland Springs Golf Course and the Saukie Golf Course. The tentative dates of employment are from the first week of March through the first week of December.

Work involves responsibility for enforcing golf course rules and regulations, offering information and assistance to the public while on the golf course, and providing support for office tasks, including telephone duties.

Work is performed under the direction of the RIFAC Aquatics and Fitness Manager, golf course supervisor, or their designee and is reviewed on the basis of observation and adherence to established policies and procedures. Work hours required to perform duties satisfactorily include evenings and weekends and will vary due to events at the facility.

Examples of Duties

Unlocks facility, conducts safety inspections and secures facility.

Performs first aid and completes accident reports as needed.

Works during Department special events (weekends and evenings included).

Patrols golf facilities and grounds.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

Completion of a 4-year high school program or equivalent training and experience is preferred

Knowledge of park facility rules.

Ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Work well with staff and public.

Skillful in conflict resolution, teamwork and public relations.

Supplemental Information

While performing duties at this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. Employee will be required to use hands, fingers, and vision to patrol and other tools.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Work requires standing and walking outdoors for extended period of time.
