Qualifications: The applicant must be licensed in Indiana Special Education, grades 9-12, to be considered.
Overview of the Position: Mt. Vernon High School is looking for a team-oriented, enthusiastic professional educator who can connect and build positive relationships with students while working to help students develop life and vocational skills and explore possible career opportunities to ensure a successful transition to life after high school.
Requirements and Qualifications: Applicants must be able to deliver quality instruction, effectively assess student learning, and provide additional support and/or enrichment when appropriate. The applicant must demonstrate good communication skills with all stakeholders, display effective organizational and planning skills, and utilize technology to benefit student learning. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop compliant transition IEPs
Complete all requirements of the Teacher of Record role
Provide instruction as outlined in students' IEPs
Provide vocational opportunities for students
Conduct task analysis of various job opportunities, provide training for support staff, and collect data to ensure positive vocational outcomes.
Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop positive behavioral intervention plans, as appropriate, to meet students' individualized needs.
Collaborate with school staff.
Establish positive relationships with families.
Salary/Benefits/Hours: Per Teacher Contract
