ABOUT ACHIEVERS:
Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is New Jersey's first public charter school for students in middle school and high school that provides them with the unique opportunity to pursue one of four STEAM pathways (Health Sciences, Digital Media, Audio Engineering and Cisco Computer Networking). Students can have access to a program that allows them to earn up to 60 college credits, NOCTI credentials and workplace training. AECP is determined to ensure that students can enhance their journey through high school and graduate with content mastery, skills, and experiences that are essential to the current marketplace and the world beyond.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Develop and administer a Spanish Curriculum education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction
Teach knowledge and skills, including comprehension, grammar and syntax, sentence and paragraph structure, composition, vocabulary and proper word usage, colloquialisms, communication and translation of literature
Develop student understanding and appreciation of the cultures and mores of countries where the language is the predominant or a major means of communication
Work with students and others to prepare materials for inclusion in literary publications, contests, etc
Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed
Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research
Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws
Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies,and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
Coordinate with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participates in faculty meetings and committees
Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred
Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress
