Job Purpose Statement:

The job of "Teacher

• Classroom (High School 9th

• 12th)" is done for the purpose/s of developing students' academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:
BA/BS or higher degree (required) with a major in one or more of the following areas: Curriculum Secondary Education, MIDLVL-Multi-Subject, Content Area (Math, Advanced Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Economics, Geography, Biology, Physics, Reading, or similar).
Valid Oregon Teaching License and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon; and displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area.
Must hold a current recognized first aid card or be willing to obtain same if directed by the district under ORS 342.664 (2).
Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance.
Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, appropriate instructional subjects.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Valid Oregon Teaching License

Assure that grading standards are explained and available to parents.
Develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
Model personal behaviors of honesty, fairness, courtesy consideration, respect, and cultural awareness and responsibility.
Maintain a cooperative relationship with administration, staff, students and parents.
Share appropriate information with parents and with other staff members.
Provide documentation of students' progress

Assign and check homework and provide feedback to students.
