We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Director to join our team and lead all aspects of security for our high school. This is a year-round leadership position that plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Strategy:

• Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive security plan for the school, aligned with best practices and legal requirements.

• Lead, supervise, and evaluate a team of security personnel, including security guards, monitors, and emergency response teams.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement proactive measures to mitigate potential threats.

• Manage security budgets and resources effectively.

• Stay up-to-date on emerging security trends and technologies and implement appropriate solutions.

• Operations and Management:

• Oversee daily security operations, including access control, visitor screening, and perimeter security.

• Monitor and manage security surveillance systems (cameras, alarms, etc.) and respond to security incidents promptly and effectively.

• Develop and enforce clear security policies and procedures for staff, students, and visitors.

• Coordinate with local law enforcement as needed.

• Investigate security breaches and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

• Communication and Collaboration:

• Build strong relationships with school administration, staff, students, and parents to foster a culture of safety and security.

• Provide security awareness training and education to staff and students.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding security policies and procedures.

• Participate in school-wide crisis planning and emergency response drills.

• Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to school safety.

• Develop and maintain accurate security records and reports.

• Manage and track security incidents.

Qualifications:

• SORA Certification by the New Jersey State Police

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Security Management, or a related field (preferred).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, with experience in a school setting a strong plus.

• Proven leadership skills and experience in developing and managing security teams.

• Strong understanding of security best practices, access control systems, and emergency response protocols.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Must be able to pass a background check.
