FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION (FRC) HIGH SCHOOL ROBOTICS COACH

EXTRA DUTY ASSIGNMENT

Qualifications:

• Ability to lead the EGRHS FRC as head coach

• Ability to recruit and retain technical mentors from industry

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Ability to schedule competitions to participate in and handle logistics

• Willingness to coordinate kick-off materials with the FRC community

• Ability to teach, delegate, motivate, encourage, recruit and mentor high school students

• Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community leaders

• Ability to oversee safety training for students

• Ability to manage team budget and all FRC paperwork

• Experience, willingness and commitment to include equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices

• Willingness to oversee relationships with current sponsors and recruit new sponsors

• Ability to identify grants that are applicable to FRC

• Capability to assist with off season duties such as inventory, ordering, budgeting, etc.

• Willingness to manage FRC physical resources (parts, props, etc.)

• Willingness to act as a liaison with teachers to improve connections with the program by:

• Attending staff meetings

• Recruiting coaches

• Participating in STEM planning

Location: East Grand Rapids High School

Rate: 7% of the EGREA base salary with an additional 3% if invited to state/national competitions

Start Date: Fall 2024
