Keep our high school running smoothly! We're looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance/Repair Worker to join our team and ensure a safe and functional learning environment for students and staff year-round.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to and address work orders for repairs within the school building, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other systems.

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as outlined in established protocols to minimize future repairs and equipment downtime.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, identifying the most efficient solution.

• Install, assemble, and repair furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

• Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of restrooms, locker rooms, and other school facilities.

• Perform minor building repairs, such as fixing leaky faucets, patching drywall, and replacing broken tiles.

• Assist with grounds maintenance tasks (seasonal), such as snow removal or minor landscaping repairs.

• Ensure the safety and security of the school building by reporting any potential hazards.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Document completed work orders and maintain clear records.

• May be required to assist custodial staff with larger cleaning projects or special events.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance or related field.

• Experience working in a school environment a plus.

• Proven ability to diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical problems.

• Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work is preferred.

• Strong ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

• Must be able to work safely at heights (may require working from a ladder).

• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Must be able to pass a background check.
