Qualifications:
Minimum Master's Degree in School Counseling
Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.
Experience in scheduling student courses that best suits their future career choice.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of Indiana Graduation Pathways and Diploma requirements
Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Proficient in technology and student management applications.
Culturally competent and committed to equity and inclusion.
Performance Responsibilities:
Implement all MSD of Boone Township policies as they relate to the students.
Support the MSD of Boone Township mission, vision, core values and goals.
Guide students to explore career options, develop educational plans, and select appropriate courses.
Assist students in selecting courses, developing academic plans, and monitoring progress towards graduation requirements.
Assist in the planning and coordination of career programs, college visitations, and student and parent orientation/information sessions.
Provide guidance to each student that leads to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.
Provide one-on-one support to students on academic, career, social-emotional, and personal matters.
Help students explore post-secondary options, research colleges and universities, apply for scholarships and financial aid, and prepare for standardized
tests.
Assist students with challenges such as bullying, family issues, grief, and mental health concerns.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to provide coordinated support.
Track student progress, analyze data, and use findings to inform program development and interventions.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
Establish and maintain communications with students and parents.
Stay informed about current educational trends and best practices.
