Requirements / Qualifications

Valid California Single Subject Credential in English or World Languages, English Language Development. CLAD Required /BCLAD preferred. Knowledge of the state Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts (ELA), English Language Development (ELD) standards, and the California English Learner Roadmap. Knowledge and understanding of instructional strategies that promote access to Core content and accelerated achievement of English Learners. Knowledge of Response to Instruction and Intervention to promote access to core and ELD proficiency. Ability to use technology for data collection and analysis for reporting, teacher improvement, and to promote academic proficiency for English learners. Bachelor's Degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual Spanish is preferred, but not required. Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of a criminal background check and negative TB skin test or chest X-ray.
