Responsibilities: • Manage Student Caseload of approximately 200-220 • Conduct individual and small group student meetings • Conduct Collaboration Period Meetings • Assist with Wellness curriculum and programming • Deliver grade level counseling curriculum and performance objectives • Host college representatives during fall visit season • Assist students with college search and application process including knowledge of Common App, UC, CSU, Military Academies, HBCU, out of state public college application processes and the community college system • Assist and attend Counseling Department hosted evening events (Frosh/Soph Parent Night, College Fairs, Paying for College Financial Aid event, College Info Night, Wellness education event, etc.) • Educate students and families on testing (STS, Pre-ACT, PSAT, SAT & ACT) • Work with Director of Academic Support Services to identify students with learning differences and in need of additional support • Consult and work with Wellness Counselor as needed for additional personal/mental health related cases If this seems like a good fit with your background and interest, we'd love to hear from you. Jesuit High School (JHS) is currently accepting applications for a full-time school counselor for 2024-25 school year. Jesuit High School is a Sacramento regional Catholic high school that provides young men with a life-building experience.

Founded in 1963, the school delivers an academically rigorous college preparatory education to graduates prepared for lives of leadership and service. Student enrollment is approximately 1000, representing diversity in geography, ethnicity, religious affiliation, and socioeconomic background. JHS draws from more than 90 zip codes throughout the greater Sacramento area, and 99 % of graduates go on to college or university.

JHS is home to one of the region's most successful men's athletic programs, visual and performing arts (more than 22 art offerings), an award-winning robotics program and a club for every passion. A JHS education fosters a "Men for Others" culture, as students volunteer locally and all over the world, giving more than 27,000 hours annually, primarily to at-risk, underserved and homeless populations. Must be willing to follow all state and federal guidelines in a potential COVID-19 environment.

Qualifications: College degree is required with a master's degree in counseling; PPS Credential. Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality, possess strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities, be attentive to detail, meet deadlines, and be a collaborative member of a dynamic counseling team.
