High School Asst. Choral Director

Job Description:

The assistant choir director will assist the director with any tasks that may need done for the extracurricular show choir groups. The asst. director must be well organized and able to communicate with the director and staff. Additional duties include:

• Assist and help the director in planning and running rehearsals.

• Help with the recruitment and growth of the choir programs.

• Provide instruction to students in order to develop the skills and ability to excel in chosen areas of music.

• Contribute to the music program as a whole and to the individual growth of students involved in music.

• Attend and help run all after school rehearsals.

• Assist with the organization and running of all trips.

Tasks:

● Assist with sectionals

● Assist with Planning and running rehearsals

● Assist with choreography camps

● Assist with costuming

● Copy music

● Organize choir events

● Assist with show choir planning

● Attend after school rehearsals

● Attend show choir competitions

● Assist with organizing and supporting booster club activities involving show choir

● Accompany and supervise students on all out of town trips

● Assist in selection of appropriate equipment and instructional materials.
