High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director

Duties

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee student discipline to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.

• Oversee student attendance, including tracking attendance and meeting with students and parents to promote high levels of student attendance.

• Oversee the athletic program, including scheduling games and officials, overseeing coaching staff, and working with the principal to ensure supervision at home events.

• Provide general supervision throughout the building and school grounds.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluate assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and performance is maximized.

• Attend instructional meetings as needed to ensure high levels of instruction.

• Attend IEP meetings as needed and work with staff to ensure that all legal requirements are followed as it applies to students with IEPs.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Administrative/Principal Endorsement

• Evidence of successful teaching experience

• Coaching experience preferred

• Qualified to conduct performance evaluations of teachers or ability to gain qualification

• Solid knowledge of school law

• Ability to work well with others

• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing

Salary/Benefits

• 195 days/year

• Salary determined by Board of Education
