High School Academy Program (2024-2025)

Responsibilities

The Norton High School Academy Program Intern is designed to provide high school students, age 17 and greater with introductory work experience as they participate in an internship throughout the academic school year. Interns will be placed throughout Norton Healthcare in hospitals, immediate care centers, and outpatient office locations.

Working alongside healthcare professionals who are applying their education to pursue their chosen careers, interns will gain exposure as well as a deeper understanding of the healthcare environment and associated career possibilities. Additionally, they will gain experience and applicable training while having an opportunity to put their knowledge into practice within a structured learning environment.

• Interns will have access to symposiums, career coaching resources, job shadowing opportunities, mentorship and career exploration.

• Interns will work in one of the following positions during the program - Patient Care Associate, Receptionist, Laboratory Processor, Diagnostic Imaging Associate, or Hand Hygiene for at least 12 hours per week beginning in the Fall 2024 academic school year.
