Job Title: Inside Sales/Lead Generation for Marking & Coding

Reports To: Sales/Service Manager

Location: Elk Grove, IL

Status: Regular-Full Time

Summary of the Position:

Hitachi Industrial Equipment and Solutions America, Marking and Coding Direct Sales business is looking for an experienced Inside Sales Representative to the Industrial Components and Equipment Division in the Elk Grove Village, IL. Location. The position will be responsible for supporting the sales & growth of Marking, Coding, Labeling, and Gluing Equipment products with the supplies that support these products. The territory currently open are supporting Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. He/she will create and implement sales and marketing of both Hitachi CIJ and related products as well as 3rd party solution providers in the tri-state territory as well as have responsibility in a supervisory role, the California territory. This role will report to the Associate Director who leads the sales team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for prospecting for new account business and generating business with existing account base, understanding the purchase history and customer needs, and closing sales.

  • Conduct outbound cold calls, emails, and or other means of digital contact.

  • Call on current customers and utilize strategic probing to identify, evaluate, and recommend potential business solutions.

  • Research into accounts, identify key buying influences, and generate interest in our solutions with existing, and new accounts.

  • Generate new business opportunities (leads) for the existing Sales Engineers and support their efforts to win opportunities.

  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas

  • Manage business with Identified KPI's from Hitachi sales management

  • Document all activity and drive CRM in SalesForce.com

  • Make customer visits as required to help win opportunities.

  • Grow your awareness of the applications & all products HIESA distributes in growing the business

  • Provide sales forecasts, highlighting specific business opportunities as requested.

  • Market Intelligence: Provide information to the Product Management team; customer value, competitive activities, regional market trends, and competitive comparisons.

  • Tradeshows & traveling: This position may require a minor amount of overnight travel (10-15%)

Qualifications:

  • Having a basic understanding of mechanical and electronic equipment.

  • Willingness and desire to win and support the HIESA team through sales & service of its products.

  • Strong Customer focus.

  • Self-motivated, high initiative, self-directed.

  • Strong attention to details.

  • Achievement oriented.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite with Salesforce.com as a plus.

  • Ability to work in the Elk Grove, IL office 3-4 days/week and 1-2 days remotely.

  • The ideal candidate will use this role as the first step to moving into an outside sales engineer role within 12-18 months.

Education:

  • BS/BA preferred or comparable relevant industry experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in inside sales and/or customer service.
