To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: Demonstrating leadership through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of professional nursing practice. Nursing care is provided to the individual patient, based upon cultural, spiritual and age specific needs.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Demonstrates effective medication administration provided to patients as evidenced by

  • Preceptor Observation Tool, Skills Fair Demonstration, and Clinical Practice

  • Administers all medications as ordered and assures that the documentation is completed by the close of the business day (max 24 hours)

  • Confirms Chemotherapy dosing based on NCCN or other Chemotherapy guidelines.

  • Collects blood samples using sterile techniques, processes with correct paperwork and directs to laboratory for processing

  • Demonstrates appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promotes effective team functioning.

  • Utilizes Health First computer systems with regards to order entry, order inquiry, and patient care documentation.

  • Demonstrates effective and safe clinical practice as evidenced by Skills Fair demonstration, completion of yearly Competency Assessment

  • Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence based practice.

  • Documents all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures and referrals on patient record to meet standards

  • Provides patient, family, and/or caregiver education as directed by the plan of care.

  • Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences.

  • Maintains documentation and assessment of patient vital signs, drug allergies, and patient complaints on all medical records

  • Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPs scores for department and/or written compliments by patients/others.

  • Uses and cares for equipment and supplies economically.

  • Maintains all stock in treatment area, rotating stock to prevent expiration of supplies

  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.

  • Successful completion of ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course within 6 months of hire if working in Cancer Center Infusion, maintain certification as required thereafter

  • Current Florida RN licensure

  • Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain active as required

  • Certification (s) as required by specific unit. (OCN highly desired if working at Cancer Center)

  • Must be highly qualified in the insertion, care and maintenance of peripheral IV's

  • Must be able to care for and maintain CVC, PICC, Mid-lines and Ports per protocols

  • Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.

Provides day to day shift management, superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service to the customer, the respiratory therapy supervisor will be clinically proficient in the adult and the neonatal critical care areas. They will be responsible for assuring appropriate staffing levels, and equipment/supplies for all shifts. The respiratory therapy supervisor will assist in the evaluation of associates, competency check offs, policy and procedure manuals and revisions, and corrective action (as approved by department director). Primary Accountabilities * Assists director with staff selection/hiring and with positive disciplinary counseling process. * Thorough documentation, including patient care, interdisciplinary Plan of Care, patient education, and charges appropriately for care provided. * Compiles, reports, and interprets data for respiratory department QI and performs documentation audits as required. * Initiate and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation per physicians' orders, including troubleshooting and discontinuation. This includes BiPAP, CPAP, and all modes of mechanical ventilation. * Effectively communicates with patients, physicians and staff, work as a team player, contribute to cost effectiveness and work efficiently. Qualifications * Current Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. * Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. * Five years of progressive clinical experience in intensive care setting. * ACLS, PALS and NRP are not required upon hire and will be provided if working in specific environments. * Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritizing skills Health First Viera FL
