Demonstrates effective medication administration provided to patients as evidenced by
Preceptor Observation Tool, Skills Fair Demonstration, and Clinical Practice
Administers all medications as ordered and assures that the documentation is completed by the close of the business day (max 24 hours)
Confirms Chemotherapy dosing based on NCCN or other Chemotherapy guidelines.
Collects blood samples using sterile techniques, processes with correct paperwork and directs to laboratory for processing
Demonstrates appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare setting.
Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promotes effective team functioning.
Utilizes Health First computer systems with regards to order entry, order inquiry, and patient care documentation.
Demonstrates effective and safe clinical practice as evidenced by Skills Fair demonstration, completion of yearly Competency Assessment
Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence based practice.
Documents all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures and referrals on patient record to meet standards
Provides patient, family, and/or caregiver education as directed by the plan of care.
Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences.
Maintains documentation and assessment of patient vital signs, drug allergies, and patient complaints on all medical records
Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPs scores for department and/or written compliments by patients/others.
Uses and cares for equipment and supplies economically.
Maintains all stock in treatment area, rotating stock to prevent expiration of supplies
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
Successful completion of ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course within 6 months of hire if working in Cancer Center Infusion, maintain certification as required thereafter
Current Florida RN licensure
Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain active as required
Certification (s) as required by specific unit. (OCN highly desired if working at Cancer Center)
Must be highly qualified in the insertion, care and maintenance of peripheral IV's
Must be able to care for and maintain CVC, PICC, Mid-lines and Ports per protocols
Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.
