Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont has an exciting job as Biological Research Technician to be based at our Indianapolis research and development facility. We are seeking candidates with a background in a variety of agriculturally-relevant biological sciences including entomology, plant pathology, and weed science. Experience conducting greenhouse and/or field efficacy studies is desirable. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing bioassays to evaluate synthetic and natural compounds for potential use as agricultural solutions. Emphasis will be on organizing a balanced approach for continuous screening while improving existing methods and developing new ones. The successful candidate must be able to work in team environment, network across scientific disciplines, and be able to clearly communicate to a broad range of audiences.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and evaluate novel agricultural solutions
Implementing herbicide bioassays for crop protection products
Conducting experiments in laboratories, growth chambers, and greenhouses
Contributing to all aspects of experiments including planning, execution, analysis, and reporting
Generating and clearly presenting summaries of technical results
Developing and implementing safety practices to ensure safety in the work environment
Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
Self-motivated, organized research associate, who enjoys working in project teams, meeting project milestones, and supporting company objectives
Strong record of accomplishment and reliability to deliver superior results
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Familiarity with herbicide efficacy, screening, and agricultural chemistry
Working knowledge of experimental design & analysis, assessment of plant response, and application of crop protectants
Background knowledge of weed science and weed science methodologies
