Help Desk Technician Summary

The Help Desk Technician provides direct point of contact support for customers and service providers. This includes documenting and resolving customer support requests via phone, e-mail, and ticketing system. This role also includes coordinating and conducting planned maintenance, security scans, escalating alerts to the right people, rebooting servers and devices, and delivering excellent customer service.

Help Desk Technician Summary

  • Provide first-level help desk support to customers via phone and email
  • Create support tickets in the ticket tracking system
  • Follow-up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved
  • Escalate customer issues when necessary
  • Coordinate issue resolution with suppliers, vendors, engineering teams, and customer
  • Perform daily backups and restores
  • Install software patches and upgrades
  • Provide excellent customer service

Help Desk Technician Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the following technologies:
    • Windows Server 2008,2012, 2016
    • Exchange 2010, 2013, 2016, O365
    • Windows 7, 8, 10
    • Active Directory
    • TCP/IP configuring firewalls and troubleshooting
    • DNS
    • VOIP is a plus
  • Help Desk Experience
  • Experience with Network and Server equipment
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • Excellent Customer Service Mindset
  • Available to be on call once every 6 weeks
  • Flexibility to occasionally work off hours, weekends, holidays to cover other on vacation
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner. Provide one-on-one end-user training as needed. Field all help desk related calls by creating the initial record of the request, resolves all level-one end-user problems over the phone, and schedule a site visit if issue cannot be resolved remotely. Escalate more complex end-user problems on to the Helpdesk Manager. Coordinate timely repairs of PC equipment and schedule system upgrades. Understand the need for data security in a healthcare environment and perform data encryption of all electronic devices according to industry best practices. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in related field, plus three years of experience * Hands-on experience with general computing and desktop administration. * Understanding of the following: Windows 7/8.1, MAC OS X, MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Access), Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and wireless configuration), and PBX administration. * Familiarity with securing devices through various forms of encryption software. * Ability to manage domain accounts In an Active Directory environment. * Knowledge of Disk Imaging and remote software deployment. * Demonstrated experience managing a technical support team. * Must be detail oriented and possess excellent verbal, written, and Interpersonal communication skills.
