Help Desk Technician

The Management Information Services Department of Guadalupe County is seeking a Help Desk/Software Support Technician. Starting salary will be $21.45/hr. Benefits include Medical Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation, Sick and Personal Leave and Retirement.

Applicant's main function will be the responsibility for answering calls for support. The applicant must be able to diagnose and prioritize and if possible, facilitate in the correction; add users in main county system and email server, assist users in the operation of computers, software, and peripherals; troubleshoot, and repair all general county information systems.

Applicant will also be responsible for pickup and delivery of equipment; replace mice, keyboards, and monitors as directed by PC Technician; install computer software and hardware including operating systems; configure and upgrade computer systems; troubleshoot and repair fax and phone system problems; inventory control and asset tracking control. High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in a computer related discipline is preferred) or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
