The Help Desk Engineer position primary responsibility will be to support our corporate environment. You will work in a team-oriented atmosphere, including internal end users, technology partners, and other systems staff to troubleshoot and resolve immediate issues. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects and researching better ways to utilize new features in enterprise applications.

Job Duties

  • Help Desk support in a mostly Windows environment.

  • Building, installing, configuring PCs, and perform software upgrades.

  • Diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution or escalation of PC, networking, OS, application, printing, and other issues.

  • Assist in the specification, recommendation, installation and ongoing support of various automated systems (including PCs, servers, networking equipment, communications systems, video conferencing facilities, and more.)

  • Perform backups, monitor server logs, maintain asset inventory, assist with other operational checklist items, and server related tasks as needed.

  • Accurately entering information into the help desk ticketing system.

  • Staying knowledgeable and current of technology trends, processes, and methods.

  • Create documentation including design, implementation, and process documents

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or higher; or

  • Microsoft Certification; or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of computer work related experiences.

  • Ability to use deductive reasoning, search engines, manufacturer websites, etc. to resolve issues.

  • Ability to follow directions and make reasonable decisions without being micromanaged.

  • Experienced with Windows 10

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office 2016 installation, operation and support.

  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, group policy, TCP/IP networking, security, authentication, and system imaging.

  • Familiarity with Office 365 including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Skype for Business Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with staff and clients.

  • Ability to construct correspondence that is appropriate, concise, and grammatically correct.

  • Perform consistently as a good team player with a positive attitude.

  • Ability to multitask, manage tasks and time effectively, and stay well organized in a fast-paced environment.

  • Avid interest in seeking, learning, sharing and applying leading-edge skills involved with various enterprise technologies.

  • Excellent troubleshooting / research skills

  • Must be willing to learn new technologies and know when to seek help or other guidance

  • Must be able to follow a project from beginning to end, providing updates along the way

  • Must be able to prioritize time, and manage projects to completion

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • A+ and Network+ certifications
