Seeking Experienced Full Time Hebrew Immersion Early Childhood Educator for our Language Academy.

The Language Academy at The Merage JCC Early Childhood Learning Center is looking for a passionate, qualified, enthusiastic individual who wants to work in a Reggio Emilia inspired Preschool environment.

We are looking for fully qualified preschool teacher who can be part of our teaching faculty. This person should have a passion for teaching children ages 3-5 years old. Qualified cadidates must be fluent in spoken and written Hebrew.

The school environment is a creative, safe and nurturing place, where children explore, learn through an emergent curriculum inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy, daily provocations, and play, and incorporate Judaic values into their everyday learning.

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE 12 or more units of Early Childhood Education coursework including:

(1) Child Development

(2) Child, Family, Community

(3) Early Childhood Curriculum/Practicum/Guidance

Requires pushing and pulling approximately 10 lbs.

The noise level in the environment ranges from quiet to medium to high.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Appraises academic, behavioral, and perceptional functioning of an individual student. * Implements and monitors students' Individual Education Plans. * Provides a basic core curriculum program for special education students consistent with state and federal education code requirements. * Recommends to support staff, classroom teacher, parents and district personnel appropriate diagnostic/instructional services for individuals with exceptional needs. * Provides consultative, resource, and supervisory services in program and curriculum planning, research, and program evaluation for special projects involving students with exceptional needs within the school and at the district level. * Plans with teachers and other staff members implementation of instructional strategies to meet the needs of an individual with exceptional needs. * Coordinates and supervises work experience and on-campus job-training programs involving special education students. * Works cooperatively with classroom teachers who have special education students in general education classes, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students to the entire staff, and assisting the student's core curriculum instructional needs. * Assists in referral of an individual with exceptional needs to available community agencies when their needs cannot be met by the services provided by the district. * Consults with parents (or guardians) and members of related disciplines, including outside agencies regarding the needs of an individual with exceptional needs. * Confers frequently with parents and professional staff members regarding the educational, social, and personal concerns of such students. * Assists other professional staff members in resolving the unique psychological and/or disciplinary concerns of such students. * Keeps attendance records, computerized IEP records and all other records pertinent to the special education program for the state reports and program accountability. * Develops specialized inservice programs for school and community personnel. * Develops parent education programs and individual or group counseling to assist parents in the prevention, understanding, and remediation of exceptional needs when appropriate. * Participates in professional growth activities. * Participates in district-wide meetings for maintenance of standards and evaluation of special education services. * Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE Credential: Valid California Credential or license authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned as an Education Specialist. Education: Bachelor's degree, including all courses to meet credential requirements. Experience: Student teaching, internship, or full-time teaching experience. Personal Qualities: Appearance, grooming and personality which establish a desirable example for students. Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health.
