The Heavy Maintenance Specialist provides quality oversight at the maintenance provider's site and is responsible for managing and coordinating all heavy maintenance activities with our contracted vendors. This person will assists the Director of Contract Maintenance in maintaining the long-range heavy maintenance schedule, maintaining the project budgets and to liaison with the suppliers to achieve superior results in safety and quality.
Essential Job Functions
Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
Ensures timely, correct and accurate processing of aircraft maintenance records for maintenance performed at assigned facility.
Accountable & Responsible in providing oversight to ensure the supplier and their personnel are performing the scope of work in compliance with the Air Wisconsin General Maintenance Manual and within the terms of the agreement between Air Wisconsin and the supplier.
Accountable & Responsible in providing oversight to ensure the supplier maintains sufficient trained and proficient personnel to meet the superior quality objectives of the work performed.
Provides oversight to ensure assigned manpower provides maximum, effective productivity.
Accountable and Responsible for the approval of all non-routine maintenance required on-site at contract facility and validates non-routine billing in accordance with the Agreement / Statements of Work between the company and the supplier
Provides a conduit of partnership between the supplier, aircraft / engine manufacturer, engineering and internal technical operation divisions to effectively solve any issues prior to, during and post scope of work.
Develops and maintains strong relationships and communication with internal and external parties to ensure mutual understanding and compliance with established requirements and regulations.
Accountable and Responsible for the accurate and timely review of initial invoicing for services performed.
Position requires extensive travel.

Associate degree in aviation management or engineering preferred.
FAA Airframe and PowerPlant License required.*
Three to five years supervisory experience at an FAR Part 121 Air Carrier operation or FAR Part 145 Repair station.
Three to five years quality assurance/quality control experience in an aircraft maintenance environment.
Solid working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations
