We are looking for a Project Manager (Heavy Highway – Roadway/Bridge projects) for the Tidewater, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Newport News, Virginia Beach area.

As a Project Manager for their Heavy Highway – Roadway/Bridge projects, you will: Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of heavy highway/bridge construction projects. Ensures that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Manage Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen who supervise construction employees; be charged with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review the project proposals or plans to determine the timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources for various phases of the project.

Establishes work plans and staffing for each phase of the project - arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Confer with project staff to outline the work plan, and assign duties/responsibilities and authority. Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.

Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed. Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others. Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.

Coordinate project activities with activities of governmental agencies and subcontractors. Understand and be able to analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules. Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with policies and applicable laws, including interviewing/hiring; training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding/disciplining; addressing complaints/resolving problems. Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management 10 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
