Rummel Construction, Inc. is currently seeking experienced Heavy-Haul Truck Mechanics for our 2nd Shift (approx. 2:00pm 10:00pm). The Heavy Haul Truck Mechanic must have the ability to lift, load/unload parts and materials, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy haul transport trucks and trailers. The position requires strong communication with Operations, Purchasing Agents, and other team members regarding maintenance activities, repairs and safety. The position is responsible for performing all duties and responsibilities within applicable OSHA and other regulations, company policy, and exercises ordinary care expected of a professional Heavy Haul Truck Mechanic.
Safety First. This is a safety sensitive position that requires the ability to perform substantial walking, sitting, squatting, standing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and being able to get in and out of equipment safely.
The position is also responsible for using a variety of tools: hand tools, power tools, drill presses, grinding machines, welding and flame-cutting equipment, and jacks and hoists to lift and move large parts. A Heavy Haul Truck Mechanic must be able to perform pre and post truck inspections, maintain driver logs (elogs) and ensure DOT compliance at all times. To repair vehicles and equipment, Mechanics often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty parts, and stand or lie in awkward or strained positions. Every employee is held accountable to perform safely and efficiently.
5 years of previous experience as a Heavy Haul/Truck Mechanic, trouble-shooting and repairing heavy haul transport trucks and trailers. The candidate must be 18 years of age and have their own tools, an acceptable driving record, and must be able to pass DOT Medical Clearance. Having a CDL is preferred.
What else to expect: The Heavy Haul Truck Mechanic will work 2nd shift (approx. 2:00PM - 10:00PM), Monday-Friday at our Equipment Shop, in Scottsdale, AZ.
