Heavy Equipment Operator II

Description

The Solid Waste Department has a vacancy for a Heavy Equipment Operator II.

Essential Tasks

Employee in this position is responsible for, but not limited to: operating heavy equipment such as a backhoe, bulldozer, earth mover, dump truck, motor grader, drag-line crane, front end loader, and tractor; clearing and preparing landscapes and laying blocks for forging manholes, constructing and maintaining roads, pipe laying, loading and packing dirt and other heavy materials, and other construction projects; servicing and repairing equipment as necessary, preventive maintenance, and/or preparing machines for major servicing.

Minimum Qualification

High school diploma or GED and have one (1) year specialized training in the use of equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, bulldozer, motor grader, trucks, drag-line crane, sweeper, low-boy tractor and other similar machinery and two (2) years as an equipment operator; or have an equivalent related combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a Georgia Commercial Driver's License.
