Heavy Equipment Operator (Hydro Excavation)
The starting pay rate for this position is $39.30/hour followed by an increase to $41.26/hour after successfully completing probation.
Our Gas Corrosion team is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy equipment (e.g., backhoes, skid loaders, wheel loaders) in support of gas pipeline activities. You will also provide support, on occasion, to our water, wastewater, and electric crews based on business needs.
A day in the life of a Heavy Equipment Operator may include:
Safely operating heavy equipment including, but not limited to, hydro excavation, track backhoes, bulldozers, overhead cranes, motor graders, and wheel loaders
Operating Class A and B vehicles with a variety of trailers and tandem trucks
Inspecting equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and scheduling repairs
Performing pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documenting checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report)
Assisting with project planning and setting up job sites, and performing general labor activities as needed
Assisting with training other equipment operators
Please note that this position requires being available for overtime and emergency callouts as business needs dictate.
Who You Are
Ability to professionally and safely operate various types of trucks and heavy equipment
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement is required
