Sargent is searching for Heavy Equipment Operators in the Mid-Atlantic area.
If you have previous experience operating construction equipment such as a backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, front end loader or grader to excavate, move and grade earth and install structures, we want to hear from you!

Today, with a team of over 425 employees work in seven states, specializing in commercial, industrial and institutional site preparation, landfill construction, utility projects and airports.
As a member of the team, you can expect:
In these roles, you will be travelling throughout the region to work on jobs related to infrastructure projects including landfills, airports, site development, and many others.
Although these positions may require travel, Sargent pays for travel expenses including lodging, mileage, and per diem for meals - plus you will be home every weekend!
POSITION SUMMARY: Maintain, service, and repair the company's heavy equipment and truck fleet in the field and in the shop
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Able to repair a variety of heavy equipment and trucks
Able to diagnose equipment and truck mechanical issues
Must be able to read parts diagrams and put together list of parts needed for repairs and maintenance
State inspection license a plus, but not required
Class A and or B license a plus, but not required
Must have a sufficient amount of hand tools used in the mechanic trade
Able and willing to be assigned to field jobs and stay out when distance does not allow travel home each day.
Willing to work in the shop when required.
Able to communicate and update supervisor at least daily
Ability to operate an I Pad to track daily hours and complete work orders
Neat and orderly, able to keep storage box and service truck neat and clean

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Work experience in construction industry preferred.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record is required.
Forklift experience preferred
Detail oriented, demonstrated high level of accuracy and to work safely.
Must pass required specialized training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Stand or walk frequently and for long durations.
Manual dexterity and the ability to use hands and arms to grasp, reach for, handle and assemble or manipulate objects.
Lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
Climb up and down ladders and other objects.
20/40 vision, with or without corrective lenses.
Hear (naturally or with correction) on sites where the hearing of backup alarms or other sounds may be
required.
