Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for a Class B Technician in El Paso, TX.

Under some direct supervision, the Class B Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and/or components. Depending on location and assignment, will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Administrative:

  • Prepares accurate and complete service reports and turns them in on time

  • Prepares inspection and appraisal reports

  • Correctly charges work to appropriate work order segments

Interpersonal:

  • Communicates effectively with Service Writer, Shop Coordinators and Shop Managers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up on

Technical:

  • Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and component

  • Prepares, inspects, and operates machines prior to delivery

  • Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts

  • Determines reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelines

  • Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts orders are correct and complete at the time of order

  • Services and maintains equipment sold and/or owned by the company

  • Tests measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and components

  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures

  • Analyzes customer repair and maintenance requirements

  • Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems

  • Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements

  • Maintains a clean and organized work area

  • Performs maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment

  • Makes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria

  • Makes parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusability

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or GED with graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred

Minimum Experience Required: Three years in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system repair.

R.J. Corman Railroad Services is currently seeking a full-time CDL-A Heavy Equipment Operators/Laborers for our Wichita Division in Wellington, KS. Accountability: Operates and performs preventative maintenance and minor repair of heavy equipment. Operation and equipment knowledge at a well-developed level is required. Responsibilities: * Operates Heavy or Specialized equipment. (i.e. Tripp Mach, Mark IV Tamper, TKO, Regulator, M320, Trackhoe, Dozer, Crane, etc.) * Demonstrate experienced operation and equipment knowledge. * Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment. * May assist with supervision of small crew as necessary. * Maintains proper equipment appearance and cleanliness. * May perform labor duties as needed. * Communicates with supervisor throughout the job process. * Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures. * Practices safe working habits. * Ensures working conditions are safe and that proper PPE is being used as job duties require. Minimum Requirements * Live within 45 minutes of the shop (El Paso, TX). * Possess a current CDL A and DOT medical card. * Extensive travel is required. Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience: Previous experience and familiarity in operation of equipment. Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures is needed. Physical Requirements: Mobility to participate in frequent travel to and from the project location; ability to operate heavy equipment; lifting of up to 100 pounds in the performance of duties. Environmental Conditions: Performs duties in multiple environments including outside construction project settings, in and around moving vehicles and equipment. Exposure to weather elements; must wear appropriate PPE required for the project site. Major or Unusual Problems: Extensive travel and requirement to stay at project sites for the duration of a project. Possible knowledge needed for specialized equipment. Must carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced, outside construction environment. Requires efficient development and performance of processes; and requires the ability to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment. Job Dimensions: Interfaces with all levels of employees and management. Performs duties under general supervision with limited discretion. May assist in supervising a small crew as needed.
