Dakota County Technical College seeks a temporary, part-time Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community.   • HVAC-1320 BASIC MOTOR TECHNOLOGY AND RESIDENTIAL CONTROLS

  • HVAC 1160 EMPLOYABILITY, PROBLEM SOLVING AND CUSTOMER RELATIONS

  • HVAC 1150 HALIDE CERTIFICATION

  • HVAC 1325 HVAC PIPING & STATE MECHANICAL CODE

  • HVAC 1330 STEAM AND HOT WATER HEATING

  • Courses will be taught at an off-site location in St. Paul, MN.

Required Qualifications

Education Requirement

  • Diploma or the completion of an apprenticeship in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.

Occupational Experience Requirement

  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in residential or commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.

Recency Requirement

  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population.

  • Experience with learning communities or team teaching.

  • Experience in curriculum development.

  • Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including online instruction.

  • Experience developing and using student-centered, active and experiential learning strategies.

  • Experience integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction.

  • Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus-wide and classroom learning outcomes.

Benefits Info

Salary: Dependent on credit load, salary is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023-2025 MSCF Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.

Depending on credit load, the State of Minnesota offers:
