Heat Plant Specialist 2

The Position

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This position is based at Southern Desert Correctional Center in Indian Springs, NV. The incumbent is responsible for management of various operational systems; checks systems, monitor and/or adjust a computerized energy management system; adjusts combustion and safety controls; adjust pressure and temperature gauges; take water samples and analyze chemical properties of feed water; prevent water deposits and sludge build-up.

Preventative maintenance--lubricates motors and fans; replace drive belts; clean equipment and surrounding areas to promote safety and efficiency; consults service manuals while performing routine maintenance and repairs; install retrofit and fabricate new equipment and components to update systems or replace worn parts.
