Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC), is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Formed by the merger of Arden Hill Hospital and Horton Medical Center, Orange Regional is licensed for 383 beds and employs over 2,500 healthcare professionals including over 600 doctors. Orange Regional Medical Center has consolidated two existing campuses onto a single site in Middletown, New York. This completed facility is the first new freestanding hospital built in the State of New York since 1989 and is the largest medical center between the Tappan Zee Bridge and Albany.

Responsibilities

The Heartburn Treatment Center Program Manager position is primarily focused serving as a liaison between the patient, the physicians, the Heartburn Treatment Center and Orange Regional Medical Center. The Heartburn Treatment Center Program Manager will participate in the oversight of all aspects of Heartburn Treatment Center operations.

The position blends technical nursing skills with extensive patient and physician interaction to ensure high quality outcomes. By supervising a continuum of care from the first patient contact through diagnostics and therapy, the Program Manager assures that the Heartburn Treatment Center patients receives care that is timely, compassionate, and technically excellent.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Current Nurse Practitioners Licensure in New York StateGraduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioners Program with Gastroenterology experience preferred

Current, unrestricted and valid D.E.A. RegistrationSuccessful completion and maintenance of ANCC or the AANP Certification

Minimum Experience: Five years of clinical experience.

Must possess broad experience with surgical patients and/or those undergoing invasive procedures. Possess either clinical experience in performing esophageal manometry and 24 hour ambulatory pH studies, or express a willingness to be trained in these procedures. one year in a nursing leadership position preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills due to the extensive interaction required with patients, family members, physicians, hospital administration and other Heartburn Treatment Center team members.

Required Certification/Registration: BLS, ACLS, PALS required Certification preferred CGRN.

Physical Requirements:
Standing and walking most of the day, lifting, moving patients and equipment, Travel to multiple facilities is required.Working Conditions:

  • Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility.

    May be exposed to unpleasant odors, sights, sounds, agitated patients/families, and stressful situations. Participation in tasks that include an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood and body substances or a potential for a splash or spill of these substances. Subject to varying unpredictable situations, occasional irregular hours.

    Travel to outside facilities is possible Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.

    Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs. Mental Demands:

    Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task.

    Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

The Heartburn Treatment Center Program Coordinator will participate in the oversight of all aspects of Heartburn Treatment Center operations. Responsible for the implementation, coordination and operations of a hospital based Heartburn Center Treatment program. Qualifications Minimum Education: Current Registration and N.Y.S. R.N. License. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree preferred. Gastroenterology experience preferred Minimum Experience: Five years clinical experience.
